Ji Ruqian (冀如千, Jì rú qiān, "Buddah's Warrior of a Thousand Years") is the first court deity of Empress Madonna.

Overview/History[]

From the beginning, Ji Ruqian didn't like to meet with the other court deities. Ji Ruqian was a good friend of Shen-Yue-Ye's and they often fought together. After Shen-Yue-Ye died in Phantom Paradise, Ji Ruqian met Hayate and decided to help him as a way of honoring her friend.

She respects males and doesn't seem to think of males as subordinates in any way, unlike many of the other court deities. She is known to be very powerful, perhaps as powerful as all the other court deities combined.

Since she is exponentially more powerful then the other court deities and power in Phantom Paradise stems from pain suffered in the former life, it was theorized her past life was the one of the most painful. Madonna thought she was a buddist who immolate herself for justice and lost her hope in humanity salvation.[1] It was later revealed she is a buddha herself named Di-Zhang Wang-Pu-Sa the Ksitigarbha Buddha.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Ksitigarbha Buddha's full chinese name is Dayuan Dizang Pusa (大願地藏菩薩, Dàyuàn Dìzàng Púsà) meaning "Bodhisattva King Kṣitigarbha of the Great Vow". Usually portrayed as a monk with a mole on his forehead or a Brahmin maiden, Ksitigarbha vowed to save everyone from Hell.
